Humbria2O. Culture does not stop

Keeping places of culture alive and usable even in time of Covid-19: with this idea in mind, in the autumn of 2020,  "Humbria2O. Culture does not stop" was created. The project, funded by the Umbria Region, has established an unprecedented collaboration between 8 local municipalities, 14 museums and 4 operators in the cultural sector, including CoopCulture.

The theme of water is at the heart of the project: water not only a source of life but a fundamental element of Umbrian history, a common thread that connects actors and places over time. Water as a common basis around which the project activities have been centered and developed: online meetings, events spread throughout the area - such as walks and trekking sessions - in the name of safety, and a digital portal dedicated to the initiative.

The need to adapt to the restrictions imposed on how to use the cultural places and the need to make activities as accessible as possible to generate a positive economic and social impact, have given the portal a central role in the project. Not a simple collector where to convey contributions and make contents universally accessible but an integrated access point for online use that allows to increase the visibility of places, at national level, and encourage their use, at local level.

Within Humbria2O, in addition to the events held, information on museums and territories, it is possible to find proposals for schools, families and visitors and spaces for gaming.

The promoting network

The Humbria2O project was created with the contribution of the Umbria Region and was born from the collaboration between the following municipalities, cultural institutions and operators in the cultural sector:

  • Foligno, comune capofila con il Museo della Città di Palazzo Trinci, il Museo della Stampa e il Museo archeologico e il Museo Naturalistico di Colfiorito;
  • Comune di Assisi con la Rocca Maggiore, il Foro Romano e la Pinacoteca Comunale;
  • Comune di Valtopina con il Museo del Ricamo e del Tessile;
  • Comune di Todi con il Museo Civico, la Pinacoteca e il Museo Lapidario;
  • Comune di Baschi con l’Antiquarium;
  • Comune di Montecchio con l’Antiquarium;
  • Comune di Alviano con il Museo dei capitani di ventura e della civiltà contadina;
  • Comune di Avigliano Umbro con il Centro di paleontologia vegetale della Foresta fossile di Dunarobba.

  • Associazione Acqua (Natura, Storia, Archeologia);
  • CoopCulture;
  • Cooperativa Lympha;
  • Surgente Cooperativa di Comunità.

The project also enjoys the support of the Municipality of Acquasparta, whose Palazzo Cesi will soon be included among the regional museums.
