INCAmmino Our commitment to the sustainable development of territories

The INCAmmino project - Economic development of rural communities in the area of ​​influence of the Inca Way (Qhapaq Ñan, Bolivia) aims at the enhancement and sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage and the application of new technologies in the community tourism sector.

INCAmino aims to promote a model of local economic development in eleven communities belonging to eight municipalities in the Departments of La Paz, Oruro and Potosi. A model based on the preservation and enhancement of tangible and intangible, natural and cultural heritage, thanks to the active involvement of the public sector in a multi-stakeholder approach, and the application of innovative technologies for the community tourism sector.


The partners

The initiative is co-financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and promoted by the International Economic Cooperation Institute (ICEI) and by Progettomondo.mlal and includes, as a partner of the project, CoopCulture, the Red Tusoco (Red Boliviana de Turismo Solidario Community), the Red Oepaic (Red de Organizaciones Económicas de Productores Artesanas/os Identidad Cultural), the Italian Responsible Tourism Association (Aitr) and the University of Milan-Bicocca.

The role of CoopCulture

In 2019 CoopCulture contributed to the first phase of the project developing a series of participatory focus groups and starting the process of mapping the territorial assets. From 2020 CoopCulture has been dedicating to the implementation of the digital platform and the training of Bolivian operators involved in the process.
