Itinerappia, the Appia park at your click
Over 160 kilometers of routes, more than 40 itineraries and 130 points of interest. ItinerAppia is born, a platform and an app made available to the public to get to know and visit the Archaeological Park of the Appia Antica at 360 degrees: from the Parco degli Acquedotti to the Caffarella Park, from the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella to the Villa dei Quintili.
The project, commissioned by the management of the Archaeological Park and the Lazio Region and carried out by CoopCulture and Istogramma, combines the virtual experience (through an app and a website) with the visit to the territory, which makes use of a new signage system positioned next to the main places of interest.
With ItinerAppia, visitors can organize a visit to the Park by accessing all the necessary information from both the website and the app. Thanks to the QR codes on each panel it will be possible to obtain information on individual monuments or start the itineraries proposed by the management. Each itinerary is made up of points of archaeological, cultural and environmental importance and accompanied by useful information: kilometers to travel, travel times, opening hours of the sites, etc. An audio guide with over 40 contents is also available within the app.
This is how technologies coexist with cultural heritage: not to replace but to increase the quality and enjoyment of the visit itself.
Technology, combined with the knowledge and professionalism of those involved in cultural heritage, is useful for experiencing even more deeply the many opportunities that come from our immense cultural heritage.
ItinerAppia is part of a larger project that involves the entire Archaeological Park with the implementation of new signs and posters to ensure that, at a time when our places of culture are finally starting to open again, we have the opportunity to visit them in complete safety, appreciating every corner and rediscovering ourselves as tourists of our territory.
